Kousuke Fujishima Resumes Paradise Residence Manga's Serialization Next Month
posted on by Sarah Nelkin
The June issue of Kodansha's Afternoon magazine is announcing on Friday that Ah My Goddess' Kousuke Fujishima will resume serializing his Paradise Residence manga series in the magazine's July issue, which will be released in Japan on May 24. The manga had previously serialized irregularly in Kodansha's Good! Afternoon magazine in 2008. Fujishima commented that while he is unsure as to which chapter to start from, he is excited to start writing again.
The manga revolves around tomboy Hatsune Takanashi's life in a females-only dorm, and looks at the behind-the-scenes of girls who attend an all-girls school. Hatsune has little interest in anything but eating or sleeping, and has a roommate named Suzuka Misawa.
After beginning serialization in 2008 in Good! Afternoon, the manga went on hiatus. Kodansha shipped the first volume of the light novel adaptation of the manga in Japan in 2011.
Fujishima's Aa Megami-sama manga series will end on Friday in the June issue after over 25 years of serialization. Fujishima began the manga in Monthly Afternoon in 1988, and Dark Horse Comics published the 45th manga volume in North America last December. The manga inspired an original video anime series, three television series with a special, and three additional original anime DVDs.
