Final Fantasy's Sakaguchi to Unveil Terra Battle Smartphone RPG

The Last Story director to announce further details at France's Japan Expo on Wednesday

Final Fantasy video game series creator Hironobu Sakaguchi revealed on Tuesday that the newest role-playing game he will direct at his company Mistwalker will be a smartphone RPG titled Terra Battle, which is currently in production. He will unveil more details about the title at France's Japan Expo on Wednesday, and Kadokawa's Famitsu gaming magazine will feature an interview with Sakaguchi about the game in its July 17, 2014 issue, which is scheduled to be released on July 3. In the interview, he will talk about possibilities of having the game on a home gaming system, as well as the game's staff.

The last role-playing game Sakaguchi directed was 2011's The Last Story for the Nintendo Wii console. Sakaguchi is also known for his work as the producer of the Final Fantasy IX and Chocobo's Dungeon 2 games for the Sony PlayStation, and as executive director for the Blue Dragon: Awakened Shadow game for the Nintendo DS.
