posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

About 170,000 people attended the second day of the Comic Market (Comiket) 87 event at the Tokyo Big Sight convention center on Monday. The number of attendees stayed about the same from this past summer's Comiket 86 (170,000), but more than last winter's Comiket 85 (160,000).

Signed art replicas worth 25,000 yen (about US$208) from the light novel series My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU sold out within 20 minutes. Replica art from the Ore, Twin Tail ni Narimasu and Zettai Karen Children series also sold out.

Comiket 87 runs until Tuesday. About 11,700 dōjin circles offered dōjinshi inspired by titles such as Kantai Collection -Kan Colle- and Touhou Project on the second day.

Comiket 84 holds the record for the most attendees on the first day with about 210,000.

About 180,000 people attended the first day of the winter Comiket 85 event in December.
