Langrisser Game Series Gets New Installment on 3DS

The March 5 issue of Kadokawa's Weekly Famitsu magazine is announcing on Thursday that online and mobile game company Extreme will release the newewst installment in the Langrisser series for the Nintendo 3DS this spring.
The simulation RPG will feature character designs by Hiroshi Kaieda (Chō Soku Henkei Gyrozetter original character design), and development on the game is approximately 50 percent complete. The game will at the most allow for 10 on 10 battles. Announced characters include Ales, Elma, Towa, and Rosaria.
Nippon Computer Systems software division Masaya released the first game in the series for the Mega Drive and PC in 1991, and it was also released in North America the same year under the title Warsong. The series went on to release four more main games, with Langrisser V: The End of Legend being released only in Japan in 1998 for the Sega Saturn. The games have been ported and remade on multiple occasions.
