The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's Nakano Station arrested a 22-year-old vocational school student on a charge of forcible obstruction of business. Police apprehended the male resident of Tokyo's Hirakawachō district by August 30 for allegedly threatening to kill a voice actress online.
According to police, the suspect admitted to the charge. The Nakano Station police took the student into custody under suspicion of disturbing business at a Nakano ward voice acting office where the voice actress is attached.
Police claim that the suspect used his own smartphone to post threatening messages to the online message board at about 2:50 p.m. on April 22. According to an archive of the 2channel (2ch) message board, the suspect's alleged threats include messages such as "I'm going to kill Suzuko Mimori" and "I'm going to push into Suzuko Mimori's office today, April 22, at 4:30 p.m. and beat Suzuko Mimori to death."
The person with the 2ch user ID reportedly associated with the suspect also posted messages praising voice actress Rena Maeda. The user demanded that fellow 2ch users stop making fun of Maeda.
