Manga spinoff of Future Card Buddyfight game debuts in Southeast Asia this month

Shogakukan Asia announced on Tuesday that it will begin releasing Masanori Yoshida's Future Card Buddyfight: Dark Game Chronicle (Future Card Buddyfight: Dark Game Iden) manga in English in Southeast Asia toward the end of August.

Shogakukan Asia describes the manga:

In the underbelly of society, "Dark Games" are used to settle disputes between opposing organizations of the underworld. Tohru Kageura, a strange boy who possesses as special ability to "see" the Death Deity, is forced to participate in a Dark Game of Buddyfight to pay off his late father's debt. However, the consequences of losing a Dark Game are a lot more deadly than a normal card fight - one that could cost the player his life!

The manga adapts Bushiroad's collectible card game Future Card Buddyfight. Yoshida launched the manga in Shogakukan's CoroCoro Aniki magazine in July 2015. Shogakukan published the manga's first compiled book volume on March 15.

The Future Card Buddyfight game has received three television anime adaptations. The first ran for 64 episodes January 2014 to April 2015. The second series, Future Card Buddyfight 100, ran for 50 episodes from April 2015 to March 2016. The third series, Future Card Buddyfight Triple D, premiered on April 2, and is currently ongoing. A separate manga adaptation of the game by Mitsuhisa Tamura is currently running in Shogakukan's CoroCoro Comics magazine. Shogakukan Asia is releasing the manga in Southeast Asia.
