NEW YORK, NY (January 16, 2026) – Milan Records today announces the release of ALL YOU NEED IS KILL (ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK) featuring music by Japanese composer YASUHIRO MAEDAAvailable everywhere now, the album features an original score written by Maeda for the animated film adaptation of the hugely popular light novel. A longtime collaborator to acclaimed composer Joe Hisaishi, Maeda now brings his talents to the newest iteration of the science fiction storyline. Directed by Kenichiro Akimoto at STUDIO 4°C., All You Need Is Kill debuts in North American theaters on January 16 via GKIDS – tickets here.

Of the soundtrack, composer YASUHIRO MAEDA says, “I didn't write this soundtrack to tell a story, but to create sounds that enhance the visual experience. Listening to the music on its own, I feel the album ended up having a much broader range than I originally expected.”

ABOUT ALL YOU NEED IS KILL
Set in the year 20XX, ALL YOU NEED IS KILL follows the story of Rita, a resourceful but isolated young woman volunteering to help rebuild Japan after the mysterious appearance of a massive alien flower known as “Darol.” When Darol unexpectedly erupts in a deadly event, unleashing monstrous creatures that decimate the population, Rita is caught in the destruction—and killed. But then she wakes up again. And again. Caught in an endless time loop, Rita must navigate the trauma and repetition of death until she crosses paths with Keiji, a shy young man trapped in the same cycle. Together, they fight to break free from the loop and find meaning in the chaos around them.
