Mai Machi's Ayame-kun no Nonbiri Nikushoku Nisshi Manga Gets Live-Action Film

Romantic comedy centers on colleagues in biology lab

The November issue of Shodensha's Feel Young magazine announced on Saturday that Mai Machi's Ayame-kun no Nonbiri Nikushoku Nisshi (Ayame's Carefree Journal on Meat-Eating) manga is getting a live-action film adaptation.

The manga centers on Ayame and Tsubaki, who are researchers at a lab in the biology department of T University. Ayame is a "returnee," someone who lived abroad for a while and then returned to Japan. He does things at his own pace and is a "dinosaur otaku," and Tsubaki is his older colleague who is an enthusiast of studying the skeletons of birds and dinosaurs. The manga follows their slightly strange romantic relationship.

Machi launched the manga in Feel Young in 2013, and Shodensha published the manga's sixth compiled volume on Saturday.
