Nintendo Announces New Fire Emblem Game for Switch

Nintendo announced during its Fire Emblem Nintendo Direct presentation on Wednesday that a new Fire Emblem game is in the works for Nintendo Switch. The game is slated for 2018, and will be the first home console game in the main series since 2007's Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn.

Nintendo also streamed an extended trailer for its and KOEI Tecmo Games' Fire Emblem Warriors game for Switch. Nintendo announced that it plans to release the game for New Nintendo 3DS systems as well as for the Switch in fall 2017.

Intelligent Systems' first Fire Emblem game launched in 1990 and spawned a series of tactical role-playing games. The Fire Emblem Fates games, the latest installments in the series, launched in Japan in June 2015 and in North America in February 2016.
