Berserk's Kentarou Miura Produces New Duranki Manga

Series launches in new magazine on September 9

This year's 17th issue of Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine revealed on Friday that the Duranki manga based on Berserk creator Kentarō Miura's original work will launch in the inaugural issue of Hakusensha's Young Animal Zero magazine on September 9. Miura is also credited as the producer for the series.

The announcement image above includes the text, "The gap between heaven and Earth. Neither god nor human. Usmugar, a child granted the name of a dragon. The ancient world. Using wisdom, a new myth is being built!!!" The series will launch with two chapters, for a total of 64 pages. Kentarō Miura's Studio Gaga is credited with production.

A new chapter of Berserk also debuted in Young Animal on Friday. The manga last serialized a chapter on April 26 after an eight-month hiatus.

Young Animal Zero will center on manga about "fighting young men (seinen)." Hakusensha will publish the new magazine every other month. Authors who will feature in the magazine include:Gaku Kuze (Uramichi Oniisan), Rensuke Oshikiri (Hi Score Girl), So-He- Inaba (Heisei Policemen!!), Hoshi Okamura (Love Love Alien), Merō Meiji, Kaoru Inai, and Asumu Matsumoto. Author Arata Miyatsuki (Impossibility Defense) and artist Ochau, as well as Ryoko Fukuyama will also launch new manga in the magazine.
