posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins

The staff of the Anime NYC convention announced on Monday that the event will host voice actress Rie Kugimiya at the event. The event will mark Kugimiya's first U.S. appearance.

She will participate in a main stage panel on November 17, which will be free and open to all attendees that day. She will also host a limited autograph session, and tickets for that signing cost US$125. The ticket includes a signing board for Kugimiya to sign and reserved seating at her panel. Tickets will go on sale on October 6.

Kugimiya has had a prolific career in anime voice acting, voicing more than 300 characters. Some of her most famous characters include Alphonse Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist), Happy (Fairy Tail), Taiga Aisaka (Toradora!), Kagura (Gintama), Louise (The Familiar of Zero), Rise Kujikawa (Persona 4), Aria H. Kanzaki (Aria the Scarlet Ammo), Vyrn (Granblue Fantasy), Shana (Shakugan no Shana), Iori Minase (The IDOLM@STER), and Nagi Sanzenin (Hayate the Combat Butler). She also voices the character Oda Nobunaga in the Fate/Grand Order franchise. Kugimiya has also performed theme songs for numerous anime in which she also appears.

This year's Anime NYC will be held at the Javits Center in Midtown Manhattan from November 15 to 17. Last year's event had 36,000 attendees from all 50 states and more than 15 countries.

This year's event will also host Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino, Dr. Stone manga creators Riichirou Inagaki and Boichi, Monogatari series illustrator VOFAN, voice actress and singer Miku Itо̄, Today's Menu for Emiya Family manga creator TAa, and JAM Project, Guilty Kiss, TRUE, and ZAQ as musical performers.
