Silent Hill Franchise Gets New Entry in Form of Slot Machine

New video slot cabinet debuts at Las Vegas event on October 15-17

Konami Gaming Inc. announced on October 8 that it is developing a Silent Hill video slot cabinet. The company announced the machine ahead of the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) event in Las Vegas on October 15-17. The event will debut the cabinet with what it calls a "for-wager slot experience."

The above video advertises that the slot machine will have 4K Ultra HD, an interactive betting deck, and a 49" portrait J-curve screen.

Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. had registered a trademark for "Silent Hill" in Canada on September 25.

Konami was planning a Silent Hills game in 2014 with game director Hideo Kojima, actor Norman Reedus, director Guillermo del Toro, and manga creator Junji Ito. Konami then confirmed in April 2015 that it had cancelled the project. Kojima and 7780s Studio had released a "P.T." (Playable Teaser) demo that had revealed the game in August 2014.

The most recent game in the main Silent Hill series is Silent Hill: Downpour, which launched for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in March 2012. The Silent Hill: Book of Memories PlayStation Vita spinoff game launched in October 2012.
