Game launches for PS4 in Japan on Thursday, PS4/PC in West on Friday

Bandai Namco Entertainment began streaming two gameplay trailers for the Tokyo Ghoul:re Call to Exist game on Monday. The videos preview the game's Campaign and Recolllections modes.

The game will launch for PlayStation 4 in Japan on November 14 and for PS4 and PC via Steam in the Americas and Europe on November 15. The game was originally slated for release in winter 2018, but it was delayed. Bandai Namco Entertainment staff noted that they want to improve the quality of the game.

The third-person survival action game will involve the stories of both the Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul:re manga, and it will have online multiplayer. Players can choose between the side of ghouls or investigators in the game.

On the investigators' side, the playable characters include Kо̄tarо̄ Amon, Akira Mado, Jūzо̄ Suzuya, Haise Sasaki, Ginshi Shirazu, Kuki Urie, Saiko Yonebayashi, Tо̄ru Mutsuki, and Kishо̄ Arima. On the ghouls' side, the playable characters include Ken Kaneki, Shū Tsukiyama, Nishiki Nishio, Tōka Kirishima, Naki, Ayato Kirishima, and Seidō Takizawa, otherwise known as Owl. The boss characters include Nutcracker, Noro, Shachi, Kanae, and One-Eyed Owl.

Sui Ishida serialized Tokyo Ghoul in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump from 2011 to 2014, and then serialized Tokyo Ghoul:re from 2014 until July 2018. Viz Media is releasing the manga series in North America.

The first season of the Tokyo Ghoul:re anime premiered in April 2018, and the second season premiered in October 2018. Funimation streamed the series with English subtitles and with an English dub.
