Further 4K Akira Screenings in U.K. and Ireland

New screenings listed on the film's website

Manga Entertainment has Tweeted that it is adding more screenings of the 4K edition of Katsuhiro Ōtomo's 1988 film Akira in the UK and Ireland.

The new screenings are listed on the film's website. For example, there are numerous screenings listed in the London area, including some into November, All screenings will be in Japanese with English subtitles.

The film was originally released in Japan in 1988, directed by Katsuhiro Ōtomo and adapted from his own epic manga. The website describes the film as follows:

"Neo-Tokyo, 2019. The city is being rebuilt post World War III. Kaneda and Tetsuo, two high school drop outs, stumble on a secret government project to develop new weapons - telekinetic humans. Tetsuo learns of the existence of his 'peer', Akira, the project's most powerful subject, and determines to challenge him..."
