Buyers of Blu-ray advised to contact retailer they purchased Blu-ray from to arrange return, update on reissue plans to follow

The Funimation UK&IRE Twitter feed has Tweeted the following:

"Unfortunately, our release of K-ON! Complete Collection Blu-ray Limited Edition has playback issues across certain discs. As such, please contact the retailer that you purchased this from to arrange a return. We will update on reissue plans as soon as we can."

The Anime UK News website previously reported buyers' comments that the video image on the K-ON! release flickers at specific points during playback. According to Anime UK News, this issue has been seen on the following players: LG 4K Player, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One X and Xbox Series X.

Additionally, Anime UK News reports that for other Blu-ray players, "Rather than displaying the corrupted frames, instead it slows down, speeds up, or skips the frame entirely for a split second before resuming the scene normally (the audio remains unaffected)." Anime UK News reports that this issue has been seen on the Panasonic 4K Player, the Panasonic Blu-ray Player, the Sony 4K Player and the Samsung Blu-ray Player.

The first TV season of K-ON! was broadcast in 2009. Based on kakifly's four-panel comedy manga, it was directed by Naoko Yamada and scripted by Reiko Yoshida, as was the second series and the film.
