Awaken Your Power in Mabinogi's New Rise Update this Year

Part 2 of the New Rise Update Launches in December with Forbidden Alchemist and Arsenal Gunner as New Arcana Talents

LOS ANGELES – November 14, 2025 – Mabinogi, NEXON's free-to-play fantasy MMORPG, has kicked off Part 1 of its New Rise update introducing a new equipment system, Dungeon Revamp, Dressing Room, and more to keep Milletians engaged. Part 2, coming in December, will bring two new Arcana talents: Forbidden Alchemist and Arsenal Gunner.

The New Rise update introduces a new equipment system. This system allows players to transfer existing weapon progression, including enchants, erg and reforges, onto a new weapon of their choice. Dungeon-drop equipment will now come pre-reforged, featuring one to three lines depending on the item's grade, with a maximum level of 20.

Additionally, the Dungeon system has received a major revamp to enhance the adventuring experience. New drops have been added to various dungeon types and gear is now divided into ranks, with higher-ranked gear offering increased power. Some dungeon difficulty levels have been adjusted and certain mechanics that previously made these dungeons particularly challenging have been modified.

In addition to the new Dungeon System, this update introduces the Dressing Room, an in-game feature that allows players to showcase their outfits. Players can now save up to 10 outfits within the Dressing Room and remove all outfit parts at once for convenience. The dying system has also been updated, granting players greater flexibility in customizing their look.

In celebration of the new update, in-game events will be available to help Milletians show off their unique sense of style. During the 100-Style Rental Event, players can freely rent and dye over 100 different fashion items throughout the event period, experimenting with new looks and combinations. At the end of the event, participants can keep one of their favorite styles as an untradeable item, making this the perfect opportunity to expand their wardrobe.

Coming in December
Part 2 of the New Rise update, arriving in December, will introduce two new Arcana talents, Forbidden Alchemist and Variable Gunner, where players can gain new powerful skills. 

The Forbidden Alchemist is an Arcana talent based on Combat Alchemy, and for the first time in Mabinogi, it incorporates a Life Talent — Potion Making — as its sub-talent. Each skill uses Alchemy Crystals and Herbs as components, allowing players to combine them in various ways to produce different effects depending on the recipe. The Alchemy damage logic, which was effective in lower-level dungeons but less so in higher-level ones, will also be completely overhauled.

The second Arcana, the Variable Gunner, combines the Gunslinger and Synthesis Alchemy talents. The Variable Gunner is a versatile combat style that uses Alchemy-based gun modification to perform various types of attacks such as sniping, bombardment, or rapid fire. By reconstructing the barrels of dual guns through alchemy, players can transform their weapons into different forms — such as a sniper rifle or a gatling gun — depending on the situation. Using Synthesis Alchemy energy, the Variable Gunner can also charge special alchemical rounds to enhance the power of its Arcana skills.
