I checked out this series around when Vol. 4 was out, and it quickly became one of my favorites. With Vol. 7, I liked the feeling of things having come together in positive ways not just for the main characters, but the supporting cast as well. It makes me smile to see things like the spoiler[former bully] duo getting into the cat ear element to stick up for the planner. Also, Ayano finally seeming to find compromises spoiler[about looking after her siblings by reaching out to her aunt.]
It's really nice to see not one, but two works from this author adapted to anime in close succession. I'm enjoying Mangaka's Weirdly Wonderful Workplace, and hope the anime adaptation of The Moon on a Rainy Night turns out well. |

I read quite a bit of manga, and admittedly, a lot of that is in the form of scanlations. But I have a hard and fast rule about always buying anything that I've read should it get licensed in English. Sometimes, with lesser series, it is hard to stick to that rule...but I do it and it sits on a shelf gathering dust. But "Moon on a Rainy Night" is one of those very easy buys. Hell, I have it pre-ordered up through Vol. 9 already. Great characters throughout. Really a solid manga.
I'm really looking forward (cautiously, as always) the anime adaptation. Tangentially, I hope the Egao no Taenai Shokuba Desu anime airing shakes loose an English license for that manga. I was able to read the first three volumes, but I believe it's up to Vol. 13 at least. I'd really like to continue on with that crew. Barely related...I had completely forgotten that Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san was by the same author, until it popped up as a recommendation at the end of the latest episode. |

This is one of my favorite manga as of late. It does so many things so well without veering into fetishizing disabilities. The characters are believable, their troubles relatable. Can't go wrong with this one.
