I was looking at the dollar manga website and saw 2 titles I might enjoy reading. Has anyone read either of these two? If so, was it good? I mean the plot, story, etc. And would you recommend either of them? Thanks.

Never read Ginga Legend Weed but I own all seven volumes of Kazan. Comics one had some sale type deal going on so that's why I picked it up. I'm sure there are people who can better explain the story better then me so I won't try. Personally I think it was great and i'm picky, just wish it was a little longer.

The site is dollarmanga.com and it sells manga and Hong Kong comics from comicsone. Most of the manga are a dollar and the Hong Kong comics are three dollars. The shipping is a little steep at 4$ plus one dollar for each book, but it is much cheaper than even comicsone.com (which is where I first found the link). I haven't ordered yet, so I can't comment on the condition, but if it's an official site from comicsone then it's probably in fairly good condition. I'm going to buy up all the full series they offer, just for the cheapness of it all. (I wish I'd found this before I bought all of Sarai, but, oh well, I got a free t-shirt).
Oh, and by the way, setzer, if you look in the encyclopedia entry for Kazan, there's a link to a very nice review of volume one at the bottom. |

I've also got all of Kazan. It's a pretty good series. Nothing spectacular but still fun. I would pick it up if it was only a buck too!

Just read WEED vol. 1. Supposely it's a sequel to the original "Ginga Nagareboshi Gin" which star his dad Ginga. They give some reference to it and usually refer it in the story but you don't need to know the first story to read the secon one at all.
The book comes with a nice dust jacket. It's about a talking pup name WEED on his way to find his dad the Legendary "Ginga" after his mother die. He travel with another older dog name GB. WEED is courage, kind and brave pup while GB is more cowardly but compasionated. Together they travel on an adventure while helping other dog find thier owner and dealing with bully gangster dog. There's dog fight too. I thought I didn't like it at first but then after 30 page it got really interesting. You're always rooting for WEED and his courageness and kindness for stranger inspire you too. According to the book, the mangaka: Yoshiro Takhashi is the first manga artest to feature a puppy hero. For a dollar, it's more than worth it. |
