It's pretty much Dragonball with Armor and mythological references thrown in. So in other words, i highly recommend it.
But it you like Ronin Warriors you would like this show.

There's two versions: The Dic version titled Knights of the Zodiac. Don't buy it, it's an edited-only dub. There's ADV's Saint Seiya which contains a uncut dub with the subbed version.

I think he'd be aware of that, since he isn't asking for a reccomendation on Knights of the Zodiac.
In any case, the series so far as been quite good, once you get past the first volume. I know theres plenty of people who aren't fond of that sort of logic, but if you can keep yourself interested, you're in for a nice ride. If you happen to enjoy other Anime from Shonen Jump titles (Dragonball/z, Yuyu, ...otherstuff) then this should probably appeal to you.

Noooooo.
Are you all guys? I love Saint Seiya. Tons of pretty boy knights saving the world! Very clean knights who take lots of showers & baths. Fan service for us gals!.
Yes, it's shonen, but they dump the tourni stuff very quickly & move into the assault on Sanctuary, supposedly the center of all the good deeds done by the knight & representing Athena, but Pope Ares is EVIL, so of course Athena & her small band of 5 bronze knights(& 3 steel knights her gramps had created) are all that oppose the pope's evil. The Bronze saints are supposed to be the weakest, yet continually trounce all the Silver & Gold Saints sent affter them.
You can't really compare Seiya to Knights of the Zodiac which aired on CN last year--it was highly doctored by DIC(like replacing the exchange between Seiya & Dragon in the hospital that Ikki's behind the threat at the Tourni for something about how Shun doesn't like to fight. Makes a lot of sense to dump plot development) There is scads of blood in the earlier eps also--these knights bleed like they have twice as much blood as normal folk. Baddies die. Knights made sure to include comments about everyone surviving, but Saint Seiya makes it clear the baddies don't have parachutes or get rushed to the hospital--they are dead when the battle's over. These guys play for keeps.
They haven't announced the next dvd(Grrr. We saw the Pope in the tub so much last dvd! I was looking forward to the next.) We are getting 5 eps per dvd for about $20, so it's a very good deal. The dub has really stretched ADV's V.A.'s--they seem to be running thru all their hero voices pretty quickly. Of course all 114 eps is still a stretch-likely 23 dvds total The Japanese Cast is all the usual Toei voices-Ryo Horikawa(Vegeta/DBZ) is Shun Andromeda(Chris Patton in English), Seiya is Tohru Furuya(Yamcha/DB/Z & Tuxedo Mask/Sailor Moon)(Illich Guardiola in English), Mu-Kaneto Shiowzawa(D/Vampire Hunter D), Saori is Keiko Han(Luna/Sailor Moon)(Allison Sumrall), Shiryu is Hirotaka Suzuoki(Saito/Kenshin & Tenshinhan-DB/Z)(Jay Hickman), & we see Shigeru Chiba, Banjo Ginga & all the usual voices popping up in various eps. Hiromi Tsuru(Bulma-DB/Z) shows up in connection with Shun

I've been watching this series since I was a kid, and I was extatic when Cartoon Network picked it up. Though the series does tend to dwell a lot on talking, it's well worth it. Also, finish the series first, then pick up 'Hades Chapter', which is the next saga after the ending, though I'm not sure if it's liscensed or not.

i like saint seiya because it was the first anime i saw and therefor it brings back the nostalgy.
I find it very entertaining to watch though it sometimes becomes a bit dbz like with the fighting that covers multiple eps.
About that hades chapter, it isn't finished, the "overture to the heaven" movie (or whatevr it's called) forms the next part of the hades chapter so it may be a while before all that has reached its final conclusion.
