Why such a seemingly random number of cards? Is there a significance to it in Japanese?

Each store had 821 cards, and 821 symbolize August 21 (Ritsu's birthday).

Ah, now I get it, guess I wasn't expecting something so obvious. Did the other birthdays do the same thing? Seems like earlier birthdays would mean fewer cards if they did.
