TBS stores mark manga/anime drummer's birthday this Sunday

The TBS Store in Tokyo's Akasaka district and the related online ishop will celebrate the birthday of K-ON! manga/anime drummer character Ritsu Tainaka on Sunday, August 21 with exclusive birthday cards. However, each store will only offer 821 cards, while supplies last.

On Sunday, the first 821 people who spend at least 5,000 yen (about US$65) at the online ishop will receive free shipping and an exclusive birthday card for Ritsu Tainaka. The physical TBS Store in Akasaka will offer a different, serial-numbered "premium birthday card" to people who spend at least 2,000 yen (US$26). The Akasaka store plans to sell a Ritsu Life set, a birthday gift set (Ritsu version), a preserved rose flower (Ritsu version), a big plush figure (Ritsu version), Ritsu-chan's Happy Set, a t-shirt of Ritsu during her elementary school years, and other character goods.

Fans spent a record total of over 13 million yen (about US$160,000) during the event held by the TBS Stores and online ishop on the birthday of Tsumugi "Mugi-chan" Kotobuki last month.

The K-ON! anime film will open in Japan on December 3.
