Atsushi TAKAHASHI (高橋 敦史 for the director) is three persons (first mentioned by rti9 in 2009) plus one contribution error:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
高橋 敦史 = TAKAHASHI Atsushi (screenwriter)
(3 ENAMDICT readings for 敦史; ANN has 6 敦史 persons, all "Atsushi")
________ (1994) Monster (manga) : Assistant ("Credits in the manga", no source found)
高橋 敦史 (1999) My Neighbors the Yamadas (movie) : Production Committee (ghibli-freak.net)
高橋 敦史 (2001) Spirited Away (movie) : Assistant Director (Wikipedia for 監督助手)
高橋 敦史 (2002) Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi (TV) : Storyboard (ep 9), Episode Director (eps 5, 9), Assistant Director, Assistant Episode Director (Wikipedia)
高橋 敦史 (2003) Nasu: Summer in Andalusia (movie) : Unit Director (Livedoor Wiki)
高橋 敦史 (2003) Zoids: Fuzors (TV) : Editing Assistant (D2_STATION for 編集助手)
高橋 敦史 (2004) Paranoia Agent (TV) : Storyboard (4 episodes), Unit Director (3 episodes) (Wikipedia)
高橋 敦史 (2004) Monster (TV) : Storyboard (6 episodes), Episode Director (4 episodes), Key Animation (ep 66) (Livedoor Wiki)
高橋 敦史 (2005) Tohai Densetu Akagi -Yamini Maiorita Tensai- (TV) : Storyboard (eps 8, 14) (D2_STATION)
高橋 敦史 (2006) NANA (TV) : Storyboard (Wikipedia)
高橋 敦史 (2006) Kemonozume (TV) : Script, Storyboard, Episode Director, Assistant Director (Wikipedia)
高橋 敦史 (2007) Nasu: A Migratory Bird with Suitcase (OAV) : Unit Director (Livedoor Wiki)
高橋 敦史 (2009) Rideback (TV) : Director (http://d.hatena.ne.jp/moonphase/20080327#p9)
高橋 敦史 (2009) Aoi Bungaku Series (TV) : Storyboard (eps 1-4) (Wikipedia confirms only episode 3)
高橋 敦史 (2011) Blue Exorcist (TV) : Storyboard (eps 13, 22) (Livedoor Wiki)
(keep) This is the current owner of this entry. The manga credits in 1994 look suspicious but he did write storyboards for many anime episodes for Monster later. The credits for "Editing Assistant" look surprising as well - is this task similar to "Assistant Director" in any way?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
高橋 敦司 = TAKAHASHI Atsushi (producer)
(2 ENAMDICT readings for 敦司 = "Atsuji", "Atsushi"; ANN has 3 敦司 persons, all "Atsushi")
高橋 敦司 (1999) Pokemon 2000 - The Movie : Publicity (Livedoor Wiki)
高橋 敦司 (2008) Detroit Metal City (OAV) : Producer (Wikipedia)
(split) This is a different person that needs to be split off. (These two credits are his only hits in Livedoor Wiki; Wikipedia has just 1 hit for Detroit Metal City.)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
石橋 淳 = ISHIBASHI Jun ? (perhaps this guy?)
(6 ENAMDICT readings for 石橋; ANN has 21 石橋 persons, all "Ishibashi")
(20 ENAMDICT readings for 淳 including "Jun" and "Atsushi"; ANN has >50 淳 persons, most of them "Jun", some "Atsushi")
石橋 淳 (2003) Ultra Maniac (TV) : Production Advancement (ep 5), Special Effects (ep 25) (Shirayuki)
(unclear => move) This one is weird. Shirayuki is the only low-level source for Ultra Maniac TV in the WWW but I'd like to see some validation for this credit by anyone who has access to this anime. ANN doesn't have a person of this name so far. (Already done, see below.)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
高槁 篤史 = TAKAHASHI Atsushi (CG designer)
(3 ENAMDICT readings for 篤史 = "Atsufumi", "Atsushi", "Shigefumi"; ANN has 10 篤史 persons, all "Atsushi")
高槁 篤史 (2007) Deltora Quest (TV) : CG Design (syoboi, TV Aichi, Wikipedia, credit not backed up by these sources, but: see below)
(unclear => split) This is a different person that needs to be split off. (Note that Google has 0 hits for these kanji.)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Could anyone please give additional information to the two unclear credits?
(If they were purged then this would become a simple split case with two persons.)

Unfortunately, the Geneon R1 release's credits are in English; they state:

Ep. 5: Production Coordinator: Atsushi Ishibashi (Tetsuya Fujisawa shares the same credit)
Ep. 25: Special Effect [sic]: Atsushi Ishibashi

Which at least gives additional evidence that it's an Ishibashi, not a Takahashi - thank you.

Reading another posting here gave me the idea to check YouTube for episode 5, and indeed there's the Spanish Dub with Kanji credits:

So that's the confirmation for the kanji 石橋 淳.
As for his given name we now have the choice between trusting the English DVD or going with statistics...

FWIW, I'd be much happier trusting Geneon than ADV or FUNimation.

So does this mean we should create a person "Atsushi Ishibashi" (石橋 淳) for the Ultra Maniac (TV) credit? (Instead of "Jun Ishibashi.") I'm asking explicitly as this would be an operation I can't undo once it has been performed.

If it helps, the first google result for "石橋 淳" is someone (else?) also calling themselves Atsushi Ishibashi.
At least this way we have a source. If Geneon are proven wrong at some point in the future we can point to where the error came from.

________ (1994) Monster (manga) : Assistant ("Credits in the manga", no source found)
I think this is a different person. The reason Takahashi worked on Monster is because it was a Madhouse production and he was a Madhouse employee for years (just look at the chronology of his works). I don't think it was because he had worked on the manga.

Quote:
高橋 敦史 (2003) Zoids: Fuzors (TV) : Editing Assistant (D2_STATION for 編集助手)
This is probably somebody else too since it's right in the middle of his time at Madhouse, and well before he, presumably, left the studio. It's also hard to believe he went from being an enshutsu, to an editing assistant (which is a much lower ranking task), and back being an storyboarder/episode director on one of Satoshi Kon's works.

EDIT: I think the position the entry for the main Takashi profile should be "director" instead of "screenwriter".

Okay, so let's start with this one:

Atsushi ISHIBASHI created; this thread given as source for the kanji name.
Two credits given to Atsushi ISHIBASHI; these had already been flagged for Atsushi TAKAHASHI (by braves).

Please hide the two Ultra Maniac TV credits for Atsushi Takahashi.

- - - - - - - -

The manga artist might turn out a show-stopper for the whole split operation (I have a dozen threads of this kind that apparently won't be processed until every last person can be identified).

But I would like to have some opinion about hiding the Deltora Quest credit so that at least a pure split case would remain.

That is done.

Deltora Quest was entered by that user who has a habit of submitting useless sources (like the front page of the official site for key animators) - I don't know if they're actually transcribing the credits directly or what.
If they're not in the OP credits I doubt they'd be on any of the sites you listed anyway though.. I believe I "obtained" some Deltora Quest in the past (and never watched any of it), but I doubt I have all of it (even if I can find it) and we don't even know which episode(s) it is.

Gotcha:

高槁 [たかはし] Takahashi (s)
篤史 [あつし] Atsushi (g), Atsufumi (u)
ANN has 10 篤史 persons, all "Atsushi".

Which makes this thread a split into three persons... original posting edited, thread renamed.

Really not sure what to do about those; I rather doubt they belong to 高橋 敦史 the director.

The credit for My Neighbors the Yamadas is actually "production advancement" (制作進行), so it does belong to the director given that he worked with Ghibli later on Spirited Away as an assistant director. I agree that the other two credits are not his.

Yeah, I've seen at least a few people who start with the 制作進行 task and move to directorial tasks later. For example: Mamoru Kanbe, Tatsuyuki Nagai, and Naokatsu Tsuda.
