Legally? No.. all the DVDs/manga are edited dub only.
Well alright then, I don't really follow US politics.. never heard of this guy until now honestly, so if he got big due to Pokemon quotes, that'd be funny. |

Well, to be fair, Warner Brothers is responsible for the musical guests that contributed to the first three Pokemon movies in addition to the Japanese producers, as well as Nintendo. Actually, the only involvement 4Kids had on the Pokemon movies was some of the scripting, the casting, the recording of the voices, and a little financial support (most of it was from Warner Brothers and Nintendo International). All the visual changes were also done by the Japanese producers. Plus, you're probably thinking of the First Movie. Pokemon 2000's plot was much more similar to it's Japanese counterpart (or so I've heard). Besides, I doubt something like this will be relevant in the political world in the long run. It's just one of the many "topics of the week", and it's really not getting THAT much attention aside from The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. Cain was making all sorts of ridiculous remarks as well as this Pokemon thing, so I don't think this in particular was what he got attention for.
Oh and there was that thing about sexual harassment too. 
The comics will miss him indeed. |

This has been going around the Internet for a couple months now, I was wondering when the mainstream media would get to it.
Note how Jon Stewart drags the joke out for 5 minutes and tries to impress his 18-34 demographic with his knowledge of Pokemon, while Stephen Colbert spends mere seconds delivering a single, perfect punchline. That right there is a pretty good summation of why he's the only one of the two I pay attention to. |

I guess? I just remember reading in an interview 4Kids said the mistakes they made in the movies (Team Rocket calling silhouetted Pokemon different ones) was a mistake but they left it in to "show Team Rocket is stupid" or something dumb like that, so I figure they had a big say in it since it is their dub, but I suppose parent companies would come into it more when movies are involved.
It was less altered than the first. All I really remember is (outside usual music/script/dialog changes/jokes) they changed Gelardan's backstory and the three birds are actually Gods in the original, who helped create life and shape the Earth.. so a lot of the religious aspect of the story is removed. Which makes me wonder how the heck they dubbed the Arceus movie since he is the God of the Pokeverse, but the second movie was the last one I saw dubbed) |

Plus there was the suspicion that his 9-9-9 economic plan was lifted from the Sims video game. Cain was a total joke. He wasn't really running for president. He was just trying to sell his book and increase his speaking fees. He thought that China had not developed nuclear capabilities yet and he didn't know what had happened in Libya. |

Don't forget the Beki-Beki-Stan-Stan quote, where he dismissed the question because he couldn't tell the difference between any country ending in "-stan". I suspect he isn't the only candidate in there just to sell books and increase speaking fees.... 
Now we've got best pals Trump & Newt. I don't think the comedians are going to be suffering for lack of material any time soon.

So let me get this straight: politican makes a CREDITED Pokemon quote in public, and neither of the featured comedians managed to work a "gotta catch em all" reference into their bits? Which of these two things are we supposed to take as more rare?
