I haven't checked this series out yet but it's on my to watch list. However, after reading this review as well as hearing a few things from a friend about it, I might reconsider. Even more reasons given by the review mark of:
Is the story really that bad? |

I had a feeling that this series was going to be bad and bailed after episode three. Glad my intuition was correct for once.

It has become a bit darker in the later episodes. It's not one of my favs this season, but it is entertaining.

Well, in my opinion it's not really that bad at all. It's more like within the mentioned six episodes the anime is mostly about collecting members to form "Brave 10". I guess the plot will get deeper in later episodes. So have some patience, I would say. While Brave 10 is not the best anime in 2012, it's certainly an entertaining one. My own score for Brave 10 (the 6 episodes) would be: Overall (sub) includes seiyuus voice-acting) : B- Story : B- Animation : B- Art : C Music : C + Interesting characters, nice fight scenes, good voice-acting, pretty nice pacing; - historical theme may put off some people, "fight of the week" formula, clichés everywhere. As for the fan-service, it seems it's much "worse" in the manga.

This must be at LEAST as good as Fate/Zero! Slight downgrade in animation, but better artwork and music! Ima get right on with streaming this now. |

Wow, Carlo... you gave Brave 10 a better Art and Music grade then Fate/Zero. You fail. You fail HARD.
Let's recap people: Brave 10 Music is BETTER then Yuki Kajiura. Well done.

I caught the first three eppies of this and enjoyed it them. I only stopped because NISA announced it had licensed it so I decided to wait an view the whole thing when I owned it. It seems a little bit more fan-servicey than NISA usually goes (Occult Academy aside) but fan service has never been a turn-off for me.

Was the point "I don't understand that the scores aren't relative to eachother but rather a reflection of the specific opinion about this show"? Because a bunch of you are also making that point. |

No...I honestly don't understand what you're saying here. I understand that scores from different reviewers can't exactly be compared because obviously the scale may be different. But how is it that a reviewer can give two shows virtually identical grades and that doesn't imply they're of roughly equal quality? I mean, I'm not really interested in dragging up the whole Fate/Zero thing every time Carlo posts a negative review here. I don't really get how you can say it's not a valid comparison though. |
