So anyone know about the dvd's. You can get vol. 1-4 cheap but that only goes up to ep. 20 of a 50 ep. series. Part 1 and 2 box sets are very expensive. I would just buy vol. 1-4 and part 2,but part 2 starts at ep. 26.

As far as I know those first 4 DVDs were the only singles released. The rest of the series was just released in those box sets. It was Sony doing the releasing so their pattern was more unusual than what we are used to.

Unless you can dind the two season sets, then yeah.
Part 2 (episodes 26-50) is here and in stock. Part 1 you're going to have to sell a kidney for though. I'm surprised there aren't a billion of these sets still floating around though. They were expensive and sold like yesterdays garbage. I kept seeing the same sets sit on the shelf at my local Best Buy for like five or six YEARS without selling. Then BB dowsized their anime section and got rid of them. If I were you I would check second hand websites and shops and see if you can find them there. |

My local comic/book/arts & crafts/clothing/knickknacks/jack of all trades store has had part 1 on its shelves for over the past half year. It's in the bookstore portion behind the counter, so initially I figured it was someone's personal set or an order waiting for the person to pick it up (this same place also allows you to rent DVDs, and they have a LARGE wall of anime). However, it's been over half a year, and the set is still sitting in the same place. I already own set 1 so I don't need it, but it's like finding buried treasure that no one else realizes is such.

I only got to watch like ten eps. when it was airing on adult swim, and till it ended it seemed everyone hated it. So I thought I could just pick up the whole set for a steal. Seems they just didn't make enough or a whole bunch of people loved it. I can always find one of the single volumes but not the box sets. Who would take the time or money to release a series like this?

That's Sony for you. I liked the series a lot when it first came out but when I head that it had dubtitles for it subs, I stayed far away and still hope to this day that someone will pick it up and do a proper release of it.
The few anime that Sony has licensed they almost never give up and tend to do horrible releases with them. Not as bad as Viz but pretty close. You may be able to find online some aniplex versions as they are known sometime for Japanese only releases with Subs, though dont expect them to be cheap. Wish I could be more of help here. |

Sony Pictures also released a similar (legit R3) boxset in Korea: LINK. The set included Japanese/Eng dub and EngSub. The problem is that it's also considered to be OOP (happened sometime earlier this year). I still see one online retailer selling this (US$84.98; not sure about S/H cost) that ships internationally, but unfortunately it's one of those stores that sells both legit and bootleg products (at least I consider them to be).

you could hold out for an ebay bargain. I bought my Blood+ Box 1 and Blood+ Box 2 for £25/$39 altogether. So if your patient then you never know.
