For those who've read the script, a spoiler-filled review at http://www.aintitcoolnews.com/display.cgi?id=15837 tells you the part of the movie in which it will be shown.

Meh, still not enticed to end my boycott against seeing it at the cinema... I think I'll spend the $19 Canadian ($9.50 per half at the Paramount in Montreal) I would spend seeing Kill Bill *once* seeing Corey Yuen's So Close *twice*, since that's the "real thing", not a Hollywood facsimile, and I find Shu Qi and Vicky Zhao to be so much hotter than Uma Thurman, though that's just my subjective taste in women Twisted Evil.

I have to add that I saw So Close at FantAsia and loved it, and would see it at least twice again just for the battles at the skyscraper...

I'm boycotting it, because Tarantino's money and connections are the reason that movies like Shaolin Soccer and Avalon keep getting raped and/or dumped in Miramax's basement.

Edit: Oh, and there's a rumour that the movies may also be split on dvd.

tarantino is one of the best directors in the world
and for you to boycott his film for some piece of
garbage like shaolin soccer is ridiculous IMO

the idea of it being split into two movies is stupid
but i dont want to sit through a 4 - 5 hour movie either...
and i dont know what the price is where you live but here
in New York to see it in a matinee will be $10 for the whole
thing or $15 for at night...

Otaku: "tarantino is one of the best directors in the world"

No, he's one of the most uninspired and boring directors in the world, like Anno.

"and for you to boycott his film for some piece of

Piece of garbage?! Shaolin Soccer doesn't have to have people's bodies being cut up to sell! Shaolin Soccer actually pays homage to Bruce Lee, and doesn't just have another wannabe wearing his jump suit! Sorry, Uma, but you're white, not Asian, and your Jeet Kune Do's sh*t if you can even call it Jeet Kune Do! At least when they cast Keanu in the Matrix movies, he has some Pacific Islander blood in him. But I guess Bruce Le and Li were busy.

And Stephen Chow didn't have to insert a ten-minute anime sequence in a 90 minute movie(Or should I say half-movie?) to attract fanboys who probably wouldn't be touching anything Miramax otherwise, after they screwed over Princess Mononoke. Despite his cgi sequences, he actually has some knowledge of kung fu, unlike most of the cast in Kill Bill.

And it's not 4 hours, it's 3 hours. (Unless they make you pay for another version on dvd, which they most likely will.) And your argument about movie prices in N.Y. is just another reason not to see it.

gatsu- good attempt but there arent as many similarities between city on fire and Resevoir Dogs as you seem to think....

City on Fire - Chow yun fat plays an undercover cop infiltrating a gang of jewel thieves...they find out his true identity at the end of the movie... he gets two deep and has to make an honour vs. loyalty dicision... the same basic idea that Ringo Lam has rehashed on multiple occasions

Resevoir Dogs - a group of perfect strangers gather to pull of the perfect
crime they soon find out one of them is a police informant but dont know which one...much death and hilarity ensues

dont get me wrong .. i like City on Fire alot... but i just dont think there that similar

Otaku: He ripped off the action sequences in City on Fire, and they helped make Reservoir Dogs famous. So the least he can do is stop Disney from giving it an edited and dub-only release if he cares.

Jetblack: Nothing new there. He's been taking credit for other people's work since Reservoir Dogs.

the real reson why I don't like that is because, since my brother moved out, the only way I can rent an R-rated movie is if my dad rents it for me. and so I wanted to rent that and one of the reasons why he wouldn't is cause it had Taratino's name on it. but he did rent it for me after so there was a happy ending.
