Just to clarify something: I like watching CR on my PS3 because that way I can watch the anime on my TV while relaxing on my couch. I have no interest in watching Funi streams on a tablet or other hand-held device, and I can already watch it on my desktop. I don't own a Raku and have no intention of buying one. That's why I specifically mentioned wanting to see Funi release a player for the PS3. I'd subscribe immediately if they did that.

I don't think PS3 is ever going to get a Funimation app but IMO that's not Funimation's fault but Playstation Network. Both Funimation and TAN sell shows for rent or buy on their store. If they have their own app, that could (should) cut into PSN's making money off them for that. My gut tells me that it is not in PSN's best interest to allow either company put a app up (not that I think TAN is even thinking about that). Toss in the announcement about Playstation Now last week at CES 2014 and I wouldn't be surprised that everyone this side of CR and Neon Alley will be "nudge" in going with them. From what I'm hearing about PS Now, it not only will be a subscription/VOD style gaming system (download/cloud based streaming older games to multiple Sony platforms) but Sony is also planning on doing something similar with video content (movies and TV) as well. The plus side to this is we might get some of the missing Sony Anime owned properties but the the downside could be a movement of most currently non app'd video content to the new Sony owned subscription based system (I have to wonder if that's why Neon Alley didn't move immediately to PS4, after being in the early PS4 promotions, but I'm speculating big time here and it could be another issue altogether on that one). Of course "downside" in this case is possibly not a downside, seeing Sony might be able to do this better than some of the current apps do (Neon Alley still has issues during peak viewing days on the live stream).

That said, I'm more ticked off at TAN than Funimation. It's driving me crazy that I can't get the dubbed TAN stuff easily Mad If it's TAN based and subbed it's on everything from Hulu to Amazon but dubbed materials are incredibly hard to find, even on Netflix. TANs player has never well worked for me, plus if I'm going to subscribe to something I want to see it on my TV set as well as my computer. TAN's part of the "stay with Cable moment" that's irritating me to no end. I have one local cable option and it doesn't do VOD and now has no plans to ever do it from what I can figure out. They are not interested in picking up TAN anyway and I can no longer afford cable to boot Crying or Very sad . I've been trying to figure out if there's someway to use Chromecast or something similar to get TAN onto my TV set in the living room but it's all going to come down to a browser that will play TAN for me, some way to work around Chrome's OS issues (they are Windows 8 and higher and I'm still on Vista - it kind of works on my 64bit but "kinda" is a worry) and some money to get a subscription to see if what I'm trying to rig up will work. Which leave me not using TAN - if they'd just get a Roku app this would really solve a lot of things Sad

To be honest, when I signed up on the free side of Funimation to be able to get past the age gate on Space Dandy, I assumed free subscribers would have to wait a week and, as such, was surprised that I was indeed able to watch the first episode right away.

I don't mind waiting a week to watch free. I'm not going to pay money for anything that's not physical media.

Isn't this the exact same model Crunchyroll uses? So what's with the complaints?

Haters gonna hate and all that jazz. One week isn't a game over situation unless you're running a blog our something.

Agree it's a crime they do not at least have a Roku app (what streaming concern doesn't have one in 2014?). The only solution I can think of for TAN other than an HTPC connected by HDMI is their iOS app, which can now be Airplayed to an AppleTV. Did that for Crunchy for a while until they finally got their app on AppleTV.

I am a time warner subscriber and they do something to the site. I get a wheel it stops while playing back on everything in the site. I know this dose not happen to everyone. Seeing as I take my laptop and went to a AT&T subscribers house and was able to watch Funimations site with out issues and no wheel.

I think Time Warner was slowing the internet connection from Funimation and not allowing it to stream properly. I could also use the local WIFI and stream fine from other AT&T access points but not with Time Warner.

I expect this only to get worse after the ruling and wonder when AT&T will have the same issues with streams from Funimation.

I'm once again surprised with the criticism since its Funimation news. Maybe because I currently still got a Crunchy sub since this move is givin me those vibes. Feel happy for peeps who like it, but I still might not get a elite sub since I already got two on TAN and Crunchyrol and Funimations Simulcasts feel a bit lacking IMO. Even though Funi updated their site and player, it did'nt change the slow pace along with less than a handful of simulcast shows that I'am interested in. Not saying its factually bad. Its just my problem.

For someone who likes Sentai and is a sub to TAN, I agree. I miss the days they had titles on netflix. But now there jumping subtitle mode on Hulu. There player can work for me sometimes on my laptop or definently on a college mac desktop, but they need to work on it. Content wise there going good dub wise releasing all episodes of a show on the site, but its only for premium subers like myself. Sure they leave the 1st episode availible for guests unless TV-MA, but its not enough for some people.

Well its been a few weeks since new years and maybe TAN can turn around.............I hope.

I think this a dumb move. Funimation is temping its non elite subscribers to go the illegal route. I was under the impression that Funimation relied on stream numbers to measure interest in potential home video releases.

I will still watch the delay cast of Noragami because I am liking the show, and I do not feel comfortable pirating what is available through legal streams.

that there is a possibility. there are a lot of cheapskates that would go to illegal streaming sites in order to watch it for free, which is why their releasing some videos a week after for free users. however if those new eps was for only elite members then yea it would be very bad for all sides.
