It was an absolute nightmare, I had a friend in the pay on the day queue who gave up and didn't get in which is bad enough, but then I had another friend who is 7 months pregnant and has a 2 year old (and was with a relative who also has a two year old) who had to queue outside for 2 hours even though they'd pre-paid! I heard about some people who had pre-paid not getting in at all too, and about people only getting after queuing for 4 hours. I was lucky enough to get in and I enjoyed it whilst I was there but I was afraid to leave as I'd have to re-queue if I did.
The single working cash-point wound up broken which whilst hardly surprising, every con I've been to has had a tendency to exhaust the nearest cash-point, but this was even worse as you couldn't walk to another one a little further away like you might do at other events so it got even more custom than it would otherwise. Luckily Sunday was much calmer but by that point lots of customers were annoyed, and I've heard some horror stories about upset kids and ruined children's birthdays etc. |
