I think the last chapter I read of this was 561 and, from what I've read so far, this series should have ended a while ago.
It just tends to drag and drag and drag. The plot developments are boring, not many of the characters interest me much anymore and the fights really aren't as exciting as they once were. Not to mention the fanservice problem (not the fanservice in general, but moreso the abundance of it all, in comparison to the first few arcs of the series). |

I pretty much feel exactly the same. Though the past 2 or 3 chapters had a hint of that awesomeness that made the manga stand out as it did in the early days. But yeah, this news isn't too surprising. |

Flaws aside, the manga was one of my favorites. It's still sad to see it go. If the mangaka really wants, maybe an ecchi story is in order.
Either way, I hope there's a new story down the pipe. I still have a lot of fond memories with this series. |

The manga just ended the Eternal Sun arc, and it seemed like it still had some places to grow. Hope the ending will be satisfactory |

Guys is Shogakukan not Shueisha who publishes Kenichi, not a big typo but should be corrected.

Wow, so many series ending recently.
I read up to the mid 400s until an erratic release schedule at the time (I think) made me leave it behind as I found other things to read, but I did enjoy the series. Now that it's ending I guess it's the perfect time to pick it back up and cross it off my list. |

Time for a continuation of the anime now(not skipped chapters that the OVAs did). |

I feel like after the last chapter there's so much left to clean up. I think he might do a new Kenichi series with a time jump.no longer Deciple but mightiest warrior? Shot in the dark but look at Baki the grappler to Baki son of Ogre type situation?

I really hope Kenichi gets a proper continuation in the anime. Even if it were where the OVAs left off, I just want a proper season.

feels more like it got canceled than ended, because really i haven't gotten a sense of progression from this series in years.

I wish the OVAs would be licensed here. If we can't have the manga (all these good Shogakukan series never go to Viz and it sucks) then why not those?
