Do any of you ever fill out those reply cards that come packed in DVDs? I think I filled out one per company at one time or another to get on their mailing lists, and occasionally will fill out one for TRSIto tell them how awesome they are, but otherwise I don't usually think about them. Do companies take these very seriously?
I ask because I noticed unlike most companies the Bandai Visual USA ones say "No postage necessary if mailed in the United States" where the stamp is placed. If Bandai Visual will pay for the postage (after all I did pay $80 for Honneamise) I think there is no reason for me not to send in the card, especially since one of the questions is in regards to the product price. I wonder if they actually expect anyone to check of the "Excellent" box for price? I would love to see what percentage of these have "Very Bad" checked off under price.
I'm planning on sending out these reply cards for every BVUSA DVD I get, and would think it a good idea for others to do the same. I probably would do it for other companies if they were also free, but I think the other companies all require postage.

I used to faithfully send every card I got. I got away from it a few years ago though. Simple lazyness I guess. You do have a good point about BVUSA. If/when I do buy The Royal Space Force(BD version), I think I will fill out the card.

Nope, never. All those things do is bring me more junk mail and some of them ask for additional unrelated information which is also sold on to other businesses so that they can send me even more junk. I have some Japanese BRM cards from various publishers that are tempting to send in with comical English responses. You can't drop them in the mail as-is because USPS can only handle English addresses, but you can always drop them in an English address envelope if you were really determined. Meanwhile Japan Post can handle English addresses in either direction, so I guess they have us beat there. For about a buck each I suppose I could mail them in but the lack of any obvious pay-off has left me without much reason to do so. Pretty much the only Japanese company I've ever really been pissed off at was Amazon.co.jp (are they even Japanese?) but I think I'm done ordering from them so no reason to bother telling them why.

I don't fill them out, mostly from laziness, but I remember considering filling one out recently and realizing that there was essentially no option to provide feedback on the actual purchase.

I filled one out years ago, but now I just toss them into the recycle bin...or use them as a temporary bookmark.

Actually, I've sent in two in the recent past. Both for The Right Stuf. I'm not sure exactly why, but I thought that on some small level, perhaps I could have a postive impact on they way they do things by sending in the cards. (I also felt like I should thank them for To Heart, which I doubt any other company would have bothered with.)
I'll probably start sending them in more often now that the industry is collapsing. If I can at least keep a few companies thinking like me, then I can still enjoy a few anime releases as time goes on. (God I'm depressed about Geneon.)

I always keep them in my DVD case along with any booklets. Just like to have it all together.
Owing to me living in England and most having a US address I generally (read never) bother. Though I do sometimes read them.

I must be a huge nerd or just a sad sad man because I fill them out 9 times out of ten free postage or not. I don't even care about the mailing list junk. I do it simply to give feedback on the product. Just living in my delusional world where I think things like this actually do make a difference and mean something.

I try to, but I don't always, particularly if it's not for a new series...I definitely did for Princess Tutu, though, just to tell them how much I loved the series. ;;

Every? I thought you were boycotting BVUSA? Perhaps I am confused.
I never send these in, simply because I have an irrational fear of having my personal information on display on the back of a card for all the folks at the post office to see.
Does anything good come from being on the mailing list?

I think the only one I filled out in recent memory was the one that came with "Gunbuster - Aim for the Top!" and I did that simply to get the the freebie from the distributer. Otherwise my answer would've been "Never...and the last one I sent in came with a Tenchi-Muyo! laser disc". I think the net result of that action was a Christmas card from the Pioneer USA office in L.A. That had a cute pic of Mirai-chan (was that the character's name?) from Moldiver in a Santa suit.

If you fill one out and send it, what is it for? I've never even noticed one before, so I'll look in one of my DVDs.

Yeow, caught red handed I just can't resist when it comes to HD. For some dumb reason my mind can justify paying $50- $80 for a Blu-ray/HD-DVD, although I still have not bought any of their standard def titles since Gunbuster. Their high def stuff is likewise twice what it should be since Paprika and I suspect future Blu-titles are selling for $40. For now their seems so few titles in high definition (anime) but eventually this will change.
It will also be hard for me to resist MS IGLOO. My will power is weak when it comes to getting DVDS. Maybe this is why my guilty conscious is forcing me to complain with these customer service cards since I feel bad about supporting these prices.

I used to send them in pretty frequently, with the intent of getting on compnay mailing lists... what can I say, I like getting random free crap in the mail, even if it is just a pile of recipe cards I'll looks at for 5 seconds before I recycle it. Plus, it's worth it for the occasions where the freebies/offers are actually worth it, like the time I got a flyer for a Media Blasters clearance with VHS for $2 and several older DVDs for $4/$8 apiece (based on title). Made for good stocking stuffers. (I've also received sampler anime DVDs and manga, PS2 demo discs, a Rouge Galaxy pirate flag, Fruit granola bar/drink mix advertising Socom, a Playstation day planner/ game binder, and a massage kit, amongst others.)
These days, I find most companies seem to do their info-gathering online and don't send out as much swag, so I usually don't bother unless there's a prize involved somehow. I've won the Newtype USA giveaway drawings twice now.
