Sucks that they pitched the idea to SEGA, didn't hear back from them and then it showed up a few years later in Sonic Riders...

The footage isn't anything new, it's been around for years. What was revealed, and what's significant about the video, is that he tracked down the people who were involved with this prototype to find out why it existed.

While Sonic Extreme remained in development purgatory, its cooler and speedier successor Sonic Riders did become a realization.
