Shinkansen Henkei Robo and Tomica Hyper Rescue Drive Head Kidō Kyūkyū Keisatsu these two could be considered as the spiritual successors to the Brave and Eldran series.

Takara Tomy was on the production team for some of the Transformers anime series and have the rights to that brand (most notably, in Japan). Thus, the "Transformers ripoff" argument is essentially void.[/i]

Rather pleasantly surprised at the level of animation, CG, and background art, in the trailer.
Those skies are especially eye catching.
