I for one welcome our anime girl takeover. I'd rather watch a cute anime girl over some dudebro or pasty nerd play games.

Now if only we had the technology to replace all actors, musicians, workers, and store clerks with anime girls Razz

Well if augmented reality glasses ever strike it big, I'm sure someone'll be on to it.

I enjoyed my share of Kizuna Ai when she first showed up.
And can still laugh at a couple things she does now. Not really content for me to watch every day though lol.

Hum, virtual celebrities, basically. First, the virtual idols, then, their concerts, then rather advanced chatbots like Rina, who I believe made a cameo in some japanese TV show, and now the Virtual Youtubers.

Has anyone here heard of William Gibson's Aidoru?

Just like how I never got into mobage, I don’t think I’ll get into this either. It’s amazing how this is so popular now. Smile

I don't know why, I never into idol or seiyuu or youtuber but I'm head over heels for this virtual youtuber craze. I've subscribed to more than 10 of those and the number will likely still grow because I keep on watching any new vtuber that Youtube recommendation throws at me. There's a zombie girl, nurse, class rep, little sister (of course there's going to be one of this), ghost, even virtual hell guardian. I think there's a special charm in watching "anime girls" behave more like human and less-scripted. Or maybe I'm just into 2D girls Laughing
Though its kinda sad when you see a channel with small view count or subs, you can see how each vtuber tries their best to attract your attention, but I guess its inevitable and the competition will only get tougher.

I only enjoy Kaguya Luna and Kemomimi VR so far, I can't stand the other cutesy virtual youtubers. I prefer them to have more realistic personalities lol.

I didn't care about any of these before, then Nekomiya Hinata showed up last month and I fell down the rabbit hole. Damn I fell in love with her playful gaming videos and snarky attitude...

When so many real life YouTubers turn out to be terrible people, I'm not surprised Virtual YouTubers have become so popular.
