RIP, Only Yesterday has always been one of my favorite Ghibli movies, not to mention Heidi, which was one the animes that got me into the medium.

Huge loss for everyone.

One of the key foundations of the Ghibli studio, and the director of one of my favorite movies of all of the time, Grave of the Fireflies, and many other works. You will be missed, but you will not be forgotten, Takahata-sensei. Rest in peace.

Oh no! Seriously? Awww man. Anime won't be the same without him. Kaguya is one of my absolute favorite movies that he worked on, and I'm glad he was able to live and see it be made, even if it didn't do too well. I also own Only Yesterday on DVD. RIP Takahata. Your legacy will live on forever, and we will never forget you.

Woah, RIP Mr. Takahata. The world will be a little worse without you're creativity and vision. Kaguya was a masterpiece and your other works were all amazing as well. You'll be missed.

Legendary auteur. I always liked him a lot more than Miyazaki. Anne of Green Gables and Future Boy Conan are definitive masterpieces that anyone who enjoys anime should watch. Regarding his films, I especially like Horus Prince of the Sun, and Only Yesterday, which is my favorite Ghibli film. God rest his soul.

One of the best cinema directors ever. Yesterday, I was watching one of my favorite movies: The Tale Of Princess Kaguya. To think that he will not be here to make my heart feel again the sentiment of watching one of his movies is too sad. The Grave of Fireflies, Only Yesterday...With his movies I would shut the mouths of those who said anime was just cartoons. My favourite from Ghibli. He enriched the field. I will always remember.
