As much as I appreciate their attempts to bring the series to the US, I've heard that every game they've released is littered with translation errors, grammar errors, spelling errors, and even full sentences that never got translated.

Considering that the Switch is more of an indie game console than the PS4, it makes some sense to just go for the Switch for this niche title and ignore the PS4. It's possible that Sony denied it due to their recent somewhat strict content standards, but that's not possible to prove.
