Why would they do that? This anime's goal has been stated from the very beginning to cover the entire manga's story, and they've been doing it more faithfully than the 2001 anime did. Considering how Natsuki Takaya is known for hating the 2001 anime, which took quite a few liberties with the plot especially towards the end, an anime original ending isn't going to happen.

It's kind of neat to see Cherami in this and as a recurring character even though she's in LA now. Both seem like good casting on the English side.
