That's... interesting. So it will get a dub two years after they released it sub-only on bluray. I watched it blind with my brother in theaters, I may check out the dub. The announcement makes it sound like Crunchyroll is only getting the dub, which is weird.

That's good news, but yeah, hopefully it translates to an re-released blu-ray. I'm an avid dub watcher and I find it really disappointing when newer shows/movies don't get dubbed.

Since this movie is in the same universe? as Tatami Galaxy, maybe Funi will attempt a dub. I haven't watched very much of the show, but I know the dialogue is pretty fast.

I might have to see if there's a clip or an archived video of the stream but I don't recall GKids saying the dub would be streaming on Crunchyroll. They just outlined that they're planning to release it next year and that the company's president had already gotten the dub script in to look at (musing at how much dialogue is in the film compared to the film's runtime)

Cool! I believe this would be the first dub of this author's work.

I think this was in reference to Tomihiko Morimi, the author of the source novel, rather than Masaaki Yuasa, the director.

And this would be the second dub, as Penguin Highway's movie got a dub. Eleven Arts barely advertised the dub though, but it's there.

The other properties by Morimi that got adapted were the Tatami Galaxy and Eccentric Family.

Think they'll re-release the movie on DVD/Blu-Ray with the dub?
