It's weird seeing Dougram again, but not Votoms.

I wonder if this has anything to do with military themed series like 86 and the upcoming Muv Luv being on the rise.

There's been a pretty consistent stream of Dougram model kits from Max Factory in the past few years, so I don't doubt interest has been there for a while now.

In fact taking a look around it seems a model kit of "Get Truth Dougram" to go with this manga was announced as well, so that may explain a lot.

Its a shame that the rights holders for Battletech (currently Hasbro, but the dispute predates Hasbro's involvement) have basically meant that it is impossible for Dougram to be licensed in the U.S. A North American release of this series would be most welcome.

Votoms at least has had a string of manga spinoffs and OVAs, both one-shots and multi-episode series, since the series went off the air. IIRC, Dougram has only had a single compilation movie. Its nice to see it return in some form.

Now if we can just get a Five Star Stories tv series....

Five Star Stories would mean working with Nagato, and I imagine even Netflix would throw their hands up and give up after dealing with him.

As for Dougram, this is why no one likes Battletech.

Dougram was one of those better shows that punched above its weight class. Any news on that front I like.

Oof, that's low blow. They legally obtain the writes and kept the designs alive. Original Japanese company that created the anime, they weren't doing anything with Dougram for decades.

I'm glad their doing something with Dougram, but i'm curious what going on with it. Dougram was destroyed, is this going be a parallel telling of story or some sort of retelling. I rather have something original than rash personally.
