i'm still surprised by how little love dimple gets as a character. he's just as fully-realized as reigen is. his trailing this kid for the vast majority of the story and often serving as his confidant also gives him an access to mob's interior life that reigen never approaches. while dimple is indeed comic relief and a consummate sleazebag, he's mob's biggest cheerleader as well:
- he doesn't hesitate to point out to mob when reigen is being unfair to him.
- he checks in on mob's well-being during battles long after he's seen what the boy is capable of.
- he continually tries to get mob to behave in a matter he feels is more befitting of a person with world-breaking psychic abilities (dimple's own misguided idea of a powerful person, but still. god knows the boy could stand to be a little more selfish).
and he's been honest AF about his self-serving motivations from his introduction. he's just transparently, brutally honest with mob, period. i can't imagine dimple as a human being assuming that he can keep serizawa, of all people, in the dark about his lack of ESP; reigen is not above this.
that aside, splendiferous chatlog this week, and thank you for all the deeply unsettling shots of dimplecake. i envy no one the task of reviewing this show weekly; it's too difficult not to gush over.

I guess it's ONE's best anime so far considering the mess that was the second season of One-punch Man. I wonder how ONE can top Dimple's arc for the finale.
