I think the characters look really ugly, especially "Ray"(Rei in the anime). Heh, no kidding, I can't believe they actually wrote that. Also it would seem these are all new characters. Ray? Kate Rose? Hmm, wonder how that's going to translate, I can hear the cries of screaming fanboys and fangirls now.

I don't know, I found some of the concept art (the evas in particular) to be really exciting. Maybe thats just because I'm a long time fan of the series, but, while trying to be as objective as possible, I feel the work weta's doing is really not all that bad (aside from their changing char names). I guess its all a matter of opinions on this though.

Um, Heero...they aren't new characters. They're the same old Eva cast, just with different names and possibly different nationalities. That's it. That's all. Kate Rose (if indeed that is her name) will still act just like Asuka, Ray will still act like Rei, etc.

The concept art was awesome. Tokyo-3 looked amazing, as did Eva 2. I was most excited about the picture of Ramiel though, that made me happy like an anime schoolgirl.

hey is this film going to be live action? Or another anime? cause the artwork looks a little ropey for an anime. But if they are doing a live action, they better do well with the speical effects.

Well we are talking weta here, and if their work with LOTR is anything to go by, I'd say the special effects would probably be top notch. After listening to the weta people on the eva director's cut dvd, I really feel confident that they could pull off a pretty decent live-action eva film. However, I guess they could blow it too. Its like counting chickens, before they hatch that is to say.

Yes, I'm expecting it to be good, not as good as the series, but still good. I will go in with an open mind, and hopefully, if it's like the series, come out with a headache and I'll also be manicdepresive. Even if it isn't good I will buy it.

I've heard that "Kate Rose" and "Ray" and such are actually the clothing designers or artists or soething, and they just signed their names to the art.
Granted, I have no idea if this is true, but there are some people already ready to revolt at other MBs over the name changes, so I thought I might give a slight ray of hope to name purists... |

I'm not sure how the movie is actually gonna be. Not sure how well the Eva story translates into a live action movie let alone one that is not with an all japanese cast and may be americanized for big holywood audiences. I mean Eva is just way to long to make a good movie franchise at all. But It may be good but I'm not getting my hopes up.
