Saw the re-release trailer yesterday on YT, so excited and can't believe this game is coming back. I'm not happy with this generation of gaming when it comes to modern gaming (indie titles aside), but when it comes to retro gaming, I'm happy to see older games from another decade getting re-releases giving me another chance to play the game. Also retro games are more fun then current gaming trend.

The industry is in real dire straits were most of the good titles current gen are either remasters/remakes of older ips rather than legit new games/ip.
In fact i can count the number of new modern games that i actually want to play within my ten fingers. This is like 4-5 years after current gen was released which is not ideal. |

Yeah, that's my beef with today's gaming industry, the last time the gaming industry had a lot of brand new titles/IPs was during the PS3/360/Wii era, after that there was not a lot of it in the PS4/Xbox One era. I don't see a lot of AAA new IP coming out from the industry (other then indie titles, which they're becoming harder to keep track of these days). |

This and Dino Crisis are definitely the sorts of series that are in need of having a comeback. To think a new Onimusha AND Ninja Gaiden are on the horizon is actually kind of cool. I wish Mega Man Legends would get this sort of love, but I'll take what I can get.
The third one needs be released next, though it will be interesting to see how they navigate the rights for the one actor that was in it, as it was always said a re-release of the third game would be difficult to using a real actor's likeness. |

All the best games have already been made and the talent to make new ones just isn't there. The only choice is to keep releasing them over and over again with worse releases and diminishing returns each time. |

It's really strange they're refusing to add the content from Genma Onimusha into Onimusha Warlords when they're willing to patch the game to add more content. The complete version of the game is simply not being remastered.

The talent to make them is there. The question is will the game be any good and with that quality lead to profit.
Genma Onimusha doesn’t really seem to be all that better than vanilla Onimusha. |

Yeah, I'm not sure why none of Genma Onimusha's contents or a "Genma Onimusha" mode is not added into the remaster for. |

So essentially what Square Enix did with the Pixel Remasters for Final Fantasy and omitting the content that was in the PSP/GBA versions of the game. Maybe if you're "lucky" they'll sell it to you as DLC like the Persona 3 and Resident Evil 4 remakes did with the FES content. Makes me appreciative that Bethesda of all people included all the DLC for Oblivion in their shadowdrop of the remaster. |

The major difference is that Genma adds in green souls, which both Samanosuke & enemies can absorb. If an enemy absorbs a green soul it gets powered up, but in turn killing a powered up enemy gives you way more souls than usual. Therefore, Genma Onimusha includes a risk vs. reward mechanics that's 100% exclusive to that version. Beyond that Genma just adds in a new explorable area, as well as an unkillable Nemesis-like monster in certain areas that hunts you down. |

Those are all large enough additions as to the make the game better to play compared to the original. New areas on its own is basically additional content that's lost unless it's re-released. |
