It's still weird as hell seeing SHAFT next to Umetsu's name. Peeping regardless though

What is weird about it? Umetsu is a heavily respected animator dating all the way back in the early 80s where he key animated Akira, and Grave Of The Fireflies...He was a key animator for two of the Kizumonogatari movies, the Puella Magi Madoka Magica series, among many others. Not to mention he literally did a whole short animated film on Robot Carnival back in 1987 which SHAFT was involved in production.

He also had big roles on production where he worked on many titles with Akiyuki Simbo as the director. It was Umetsu who convinced and asked J.C. Staff to go with Simbo as Director in New Hurricane Polymer OVA where Umetsu did the Character designs, Key animation, and animation director...lots of history.

There is nothing weird about it...sorry your comment confused me. lol Is it because he did Kite? if you look up SHAFT you'll see they were involved in the Urotsukidoji Legend Of The Overfiend series among others lol

Because ARMS is the first thing that comes to mind. You wrote that novel for no damn reason.
