I skipped over all the films and some of the OVA's and never felt like I was missing anything story wise.

The only needed movie it´s the first one since Melissa and Star and Stripes are from there.

You can still watch the series without it though, but you don't get that little "Woah" moment.

The second one its really cool though.

seeing it laid out this way really cements how the rushed the series was, I mean it escalated way too fast. High school series like Haikyu! or Sound! Euphonium use the three year time frame but MHA crams the whole story into little more than a year.

Now I'm thinking how much more impact the series could have been if say Uraraka and Toga had a more long term rivalry instead of it being "this girl I barely know keeps trying to kill me", let alone the parade of character intro'd that vanish just as quickly.

Though if you watch all the movies, there's a scene in the final arc that will be very rewarding.
