From AoD:
I'm incredibly excited for Children of the Sea. Daisuke Igarashi finally makes his legal English language debut. Also interested in Detroit Metal City. |

WOWOWOWOWOW!!!
I can't give a crap for anything else on the list (well, maybe DMC), but Children of the Sea! Goddamn awesome! Also, to correct you HellKorn; this would be Daisuke Igarashi's second English debut; Fanfare released a short story of his in the anthology Japan - As Viewed By 17 Creators. |

I'm not really familiar with the new titles on there. I have heard good things about Children of the Sea, though.
I'm actually more happy about Slam Dunk going on a bi-monthly release. On its current pace, it would take longer for it to be released completely than One Piece. They only put less than about 2 or 3 chapters per month in SJ. I'll be picking it up after I get caught with all my current series. |

Ah, yeah, forgot about that short. Well, it's still a debut. Of sorts. |

Yeah, I guess, considering lower than 50 people have actually read Japan! |

I suppose that proves my point on the Taniguchi thread about some manga doing better with alt-comics fans than with manga fans. Japan got an Eisner nomination in 2007, "best of year" from The Comics Journal in 2006 and has been published in at least six languages (might have been a few more since the Fanfare edition came out) so it didn't exactly sink without trace. |
