Warning, spoilers.
I was just wondering if anyone here got a chance to look at the Hiragushi Special OVA episode, Nekogoroshi hen. And more importantly, how the mini-story connects to the rest of the Hiragushi series as i'm at a loss on how to connect the two of them together. |

For a one-episode standalone story, it's good. It doesn't add anything new to the overall Higurashi storyline, though. If you don't watch it, you won't miss anything. I would say it fits in the series after Higurashi and before Higurashi Kai.

I enjoyed the ending where everyone is standing around with some cats and Keii is like "Hey, we needed to get some cats in there! It was the title!"
However, afaik, like the first and last episode of Kei, it really has no connection to the main plot about spoiler[Rika...] |

If you look at it one way it could be related to the main story. The legend they speak about could have been derived (Higurashi Kai spoilers follow) spoiler[by the Tokyo people and Miyo's unit if they were using that place as a staging area or base from which to operate in order to keep people away, since it was close to Himenazawa.]
Also it's Higurashi no Naku Koroni: Nekogoroshi-hen, it's already pretty much impossible to spell as is, please don't complicate it.

I'll agree with that theory. Mion's flashback spoiler[did have the generic brown clothed soldier guy that were driving around in the white van/doing all the dirty work (I forget their codename, it was like birds or something  )]

LOL. I was thinking that the title was wrong both times.
Btw, those faces that the characters would make when they were angry probably were my favorite parts. |

Everyone in Higurashi just kind of skips "angry" and moves right along into blind psychotic rage instead.

aye. though, she only flips out once or twice. though honestly, i can't really remember exactly when. She is generally the most level headed one...spoiler[possibly only because she is not "infected"] |

Wasn't that in spoiler[Hiragushi Zero? When she beat the living daylights out of the bratty version of Satoko?] I remember watching that scene and doing a double take just to make sure i wasn't imagining things. |
