Most if not all of the people who made Banjo-Koozie aren't at Rare anymore. They went off to form Playtonic and made Yooka Laylee which wasn't very well received. A lot of people are nostalgic for old Rare games, myself included, but many also apparently forget Rare kind of fell off towards the end of their tenure with Nintendo. DK64 wasn't that great compared to their previous DKC and Banjo games and is only really known nowadays for the opening rap. Any modern Banjo-Kazooie game made by the current "Rare" wouldn't be the same as the one they played as kids or made by the same people.

Rare didn't really fall off at the end of their tenure with Nintendo. At the time their final games(Donkey Kong 64, Perfect Dark, Banjo-Tooie, and Conker's Bad Fur Day) were well liked and got good reviews. Yes that's right DK64 was well liked when it came out, and got good reviews. The hate that it gets nowadays is retroactive.
Also the rumor that all the "good people" at Rare had already left prior to the Microsoft buyout is false. At the time that Microsoft bought Rare, six people from the Goldeneye/Perfect Dark team had left. That's it. All the other people at Rare were still there. There was no mass exodus at the time.
Also since you bought up Yooka-Laylee you should play Yooka-Replaylee.

It's 2026 and people are still riding that anti-Fallout 76 bandwagon? Bethesda is on record stating that game is making money hand over fist through and pretty much their bread and butter money maker akin to Final Fantasy 14 is for Square-Enix while the rest of their stuff performs middling or outright terrible. If you don't like it that's fine but there's clearly a reason Fallout 76 is still going strong 8 years later while so many other games and studios got the axe in under a year especially the games like Avowed.
Sure New Vegas 2 could be just as bad as Obsidians other stuff but just the announcement alone does a lot of good will. We'll all cross the bridge of the game being bad when it comes out. For now people are just happy it's finally happening.

"other terrible game studios" You and everyone who lives in whatever echo chamber you're used to commenting in all make me sick. People's lives are being destroyed, you unimaginably awful human being. I hope one day you get to feel the sting of losing your livelihood and then see others cheering it on from the sidelines. |
I'm not a console fanboy unless you count PC because I play most of my stuff on PC. I was just pointing out how Sony keeps stepping on rakes while Microsoft is getting praise. If pointing that out makes me a Microsoft console fanboy then eh ok I guess. I don't even own a current gen Xbox though.
I'm genuinely not seeing the big deal here on the second point? Most people have to be productive at their job or they'll lose it either by being fired or the company going under. How do you keep paying employees if a business doesn't make any money because they're not making things that sell? Pull it out of thin air?
