I've gone through the various Mausu/Mouse company pages, and there are apparently two companies mixed in there. One is a sound production/recording studio, Studio Mausu, which is a subsidiary of Mausu Promotion. They are either credited all caps as STUDIO MAUSU or as スタジオマウス. There is also the animation studio Mouse (which I haven't been able to find a webpage for). Confusingly, the are also sometimes credited as スタジオマウス but are often just マウス. There are a few titles where they are romanized all-caps as MOUSE (see Sister Princess for one example where both romanized and katakana names alternate) which helps to confirm they are officially "Mouse" and not "Mausu". There are a few titles with a スタジオマウス as part of the production committee, and all of these should be the sound/recording studio. It wouldn't make sense for an animation studio to be on the production committee when they don't do "Animation Production", and those credits line up with Studio Mausu's credits page and their other sound/recording credits. The only potentially confusing one there is "Production Cooperation" for Final Fantasy Unlimited, since that's an episodic animation-related credit (and just マウス, so should be the animation studio). So breaking it down, they should be purged like I've listed below. Thinking them over, the only one that can really be safely merged is "Mouse Promotion". The news article for Mouse Promotion should also be corrected to Mausu Promotion (since I cannot do that)
Mausu -> Mouse Studio Mausu (sound credits) -> (no purge) Studio Mausu (animation credits) -> Mouse Mausu Promotion -> (no purge) Mouse -> (no purge) Studio Mouse (sound credits) -> Studio Mausu Studio Mouse (animation credits) -> Mouse Mouse Promotion -> Mausu Promotion |

I had forgotten about this, but after seeing the names inconsistently applied (for the sound studio) again in the Nyarko-san entry, I was reminded. I will be getting to work on consolidating these credits soon.

I'm done sorting out all of the credits. Unlike with persons, it seems there is no error message when trying to add new credits to purged companies like "Mausu" and "Studio Mouse". Should I add a comment to these blank pages, in case anyone uninformed adds credits to them in the future?

In these cases, I tend to add a "Note to editors: This is a duplicate of ___" as an "Other information" entry, to facilitate any future clean up. |
