Hey I have 2 orders that's both been stuck in customs for 5 days now, has anyone ever experienced the CBSA (Canadian Border Services Agency) taken the entire order and holding it? What about a particular item in the order and sending the rest?

Sadly, in my experience, having a TRSI order held by Canada Customs for 5 days or longer is not unusual. Don't panic, they will eventually release them (unless Cool Devices is in one of your orders - apparently it is illegal in Canada so it would be seized).

Wait, really? I can get TRSI to ship Kite uncut to me, but Cool Devices is a nono? |

Maybe the border patrol people are just huge anime fans that are also petty and mooch off you guy's stuff by viewing them or burning pirated copies for themselves. Do they come unsealed? On a similar note when I bought the Ausie Higurashi no Naka Koroni Kai sets they were both opened and inspected by US customs and held up a day or two. |

Doesn't explain why they'd open my Revoltech of a dragon and not my Nendoroid, though. |

If your order takes roughly two weeks extra than usual to arrive, THEN you should be concerned.
In my case, they confiscated my copy of Love Selection by Kisaragi Gunma. I thought I'd be safe because Eros Comix removed the loli chapter (which I didn't really like anyway so I didn't really care despite my general stance on censorship), but I forgot that there was an incest chapter inside. (Desensitization ahoy!) |

Thanks for all the replies and yeah I am a little worried though I'm not sure which titles they would take :S Anyone know if any of the following titles are banned?
The only one I can see them possibly taking is Ikki-Tousen and My Santa but I only got those because they were pretty cheap anyway so I'm not worried if those get taken. What's the longest your order has been stuck in Customs? Afro Samurai DVD (D) Uncut Ai Yori Aoshi Enishi CD Soundtrack 1: Pine Chrono Crusade Complete Collection DVD (Hyb) Holiday Edition Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works Blu-ray (Hyb) Ikki-Tousen DVD Complete Series (Hyb) - Viridian Collection Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens DVD Complete Collection (S) My Santa DVD (Hyb) Origin: Spirits of the Past Blu-ray (Hyb) Special Edition Romeo x Juliet DVD Complete Series (Hyb) Sola DVD Complete Collection (S) (Anime Legends) Str.A.In.: Strategic Armored Infantry DVD Box Set (Hyb) - S.A.V.E. In terms of what the longest time an order has been stuck in Customs, it's hard for me to say. TRSI only started providing tracking information that let's you see how long an order stays there earlier this year. I think I remember seeing one stuck for 7 days. Ikki Tousen and My Santa are fine: I've received both of those from TRSI in the past. Your list looks fine. Like I say, relax - you'll get it eventually.

Yo canucks, if you check out the site that ANN sourced on that story, you can peruse quarterly list after quarterly list of material that Canada deemed obscene. I scanned the first couple documents and picked the animeish sounding ones: Cosplay Fetish Academy - Banned Kiss X Sis 8 - Admissible Kiss X Sis 5 - Admissible Cheerful Eros Project - Banned F3 - Now Admissible La Blue Girl Original Manga Books 4 and 5 - Banned La Blue Girl Initiation (DVD) - Admissible OH My Sex Goddess - Banned Wordsworth Outer Story - Banned A whole bunch of Hetalia Axis Powers stuff - Now Admissible (Why on Earth would Hetalia ever have been banned? I mean, I've not seen it, but it looks so, so far removed from any definition of obscene...) Also, I want to point out that there is a group of people whose job is to watch porn. |

That's a visual novel, and eroge naturally. I own it, but haven't played it yet, so I'm not sure what Canada would find offensive.
I haven't seen it yet either, but maybe it makes fun of Canada and they were just being poor sports about it? |

Maybe references to Nazi Germany? Could those be illegal? |

Yeah, I searched for it at ANN because of the word cosplay and saw as such, but I figured it might still be applicable to somebody. And Hetalia was listed in the obscenity section, so I doubt it would be something about Nazis (They have a separate section for hate speech) or making fun of Canada... I almost wonder if the particular banned books are doujin.
Well, I guess you'll just have to keep on polishing that ... résumé. |
