Wow! Now THAT is the prettiest Bungaku Shoujo anime picture I've ever seen! That's it! I cave! I wanna watch this movie NOW!...I better hope there's no ecchi stuff in it, of course.

Well, I was kind of looking forward to Bungaku Shojo, but good lord was that trailer dull. The ear-stabbingly maudlin music didn't help, I'm sure. Judging from the crew list, it's still probably worth checking out, but I've lost my enthusiasm.

Nyaruko-san appears to take Lovecraft's (at the time) revolutionary concept of Eldritch horror and turn it into another flavor of bratty girl. It could still be funny I suppose, but what a waste.

Oh well. Brains Base is making Durarara, Masaaki Yuasa's new project comes out in a few months, and the Lain crew is reuniting for a new project. Life is still good.

Well, I've always agreed with the people who call it the "dread spectre of moe": all-hungering, all-devouring, of entirely alien morality and psychology, which drives rational men and women into madness at the merest glimpse while transforming its devoted worshipers into unspeakable, contorted composites of man and monster.

So I guess what I'm driving at is at least this Nyaru whatever thing is cutting out the middle man and acknowledging that moe is an eldritch abomination from the gaping chasm of madness between the dimensions.
