I was curious why Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon are shown on KidsWB and not 4KidsTV (otherwise known as the FoxBox). Being that they are both licenced by 4Kids, why different networks? Also, they advertise the FoxBox on Yu-Gi-Oh DVDs, which might cause confusion.
If you know or have any idea why, please post.

Isn't it funny that Yu-Gi-Oh! and PokeMon are huge successes while most everything on 4KidsTV gets lambasted? I just think it's hilarious considering most of the VA's are the same (Nami on One Piece is Tea on Yu-Gi-Oh!), so why the poor rep by $Kids? (oops, that's 4Kids)

Simple: Most of the shows they acquire are redubbed for kids, even if they aren't really kid shows. It's definitely not right, but I don't see why the thousands (and thousands!) hate them with the passion that they do.

According to the ANN encyclopedia, 4kids properties (atleast the ones bought from Japan) are-

Nintendo/game titles-

F-Zero Falcon Densetsu (TV)
Kirby: Right Back At Ya! (TV)
Pokemon (TV)
Pokemon - Jirachi Wish Maker (movie)
Pokemon - Mewtwo Returns (special)
Pokemon 2000 - The Movie
Pokemon 3 - The Movie
Pokemon 4Ever (movie)
Pokemon Heroes - Latias & Latios (movie)
Pokemon: The First Movie
Sonic X (TV)

Shounen Jump titles-

One Piece (TV)
Shaman King (TV)
Ultimate Muscle (TV)
Yu-Gi-Oh! (TV)
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monster GX (TV)
Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Movie (U.S.)

Titles for young girls-
Ojamajo Doremi (TV)
Tama & Friends (TV)
Tokyo Mew Mew (TV)

Nintendo's major draw in regards to marketting has generally been kids. The constant reinvention of thier most popular children's titles (Kirby, Mario, Pokemon, Donkey Kong) prove this (while their more higher-aimed titles remain unanimated). Shonen Jump is a magazine aimed at young boys (though due to the diversity, content and quality of the material, it attracts older audiences aswell, however they are not the core focus of the properties. Doremi and Mew Mew were also the primary focus for girls aged what... 4 till 12 years? Tama I'm not sure, but I highly doubt the pictures of happy cats being playful is a sign of kid-unfriendly content.

Unless you're being sarcastic, of course. Any title 4Kids picks up, from a marketting/business point of view (as this is what they are) has to originally fit into that demographic, otherwise it's a pain in the ass to make it fit.

takkunthecat: are you really, really this stupid?

I don't like what they did to Yugioh any more than I like what they did to One Piece. I don't mind what they did to shows like Pokemon or Kinikuman because I don't care for those shows in any language, and the former of those two was never more than a vehicle to sell more games and cards.

Most critisism is dirrected at 4Kids the company, not 4Kids' Fox Box itself.
